If you have ever pulled a saddle and found a raw patch behind your horse’s elbow — or watched a horse increasingly resistant at girthing despite a correctly fitted saddle and a careful warm-up routine — you are dealing with a contact friction problem. Not a saddle fit problem, not a behavioral problem, not a mystery. Skin is being stressed in the same spot, repeatedly, on every ride. The fix is not more padding on top of the problem. It is reducing friction at the source.
